The HEART/NSTA Trust is now accepting applications for the government’s Learning, Earning and Prosper, LEAP, Programme.
The programme was announced by Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness during his contribution to the budget debate in March.
It allows unemployed Jamaicans aged 17 and older, who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme at a local tertiary institution or are recent graduates within one year, to get paid to gain work experience.
Speaking during the OPM on Air segment of Cliff Hughes Online on Tuesday, education minister, Senator Dr. Dana Morris Dixon, said the framework was crafted by student leaders.

Applicants are to submit a valid government ID, TRN, NIS, and proof of enrolment or graduation status.
Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed programmes within the following sectors: construction and the built environment, manufacturing and engineering, transportation and logistics, agriculture, creative industries, information technology or policy, public administration and law.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday, September 15.
