Opposition Spokesman on Transport, Mike Henry, is raising concern about the frequency of major mishaps involving Jamaica Urban Transit Company, JUTC buses over recent months.

There’ve been two accidents involving the state-owned bus company this week, including one in which a man was killed.

Mr. Henry says he’s holding the management of the JUTC responsible.

Mr. Henry says the safety of both the bus crews and passengers demand better accountability from the management of the bus company.

He’s also pointing to poor maintenance of buses and inadequate training of drivers as possible causes for some of the accidents.

He says drivers need to be better monitored.
