Tourism Minister, Dr. Wykeham mcNeill, says over 1-million air seats have already been been secured to accommodate tourists expected to visit Jamaica during the highly-anticipated Winter Tourist Season, which officially begins today.
The Winter Tourist Season ends in April, next year.
Dr. McNeill says 1.2 million seats are proposed for the season.
This represents an increase of 15% over the same period in 2013-2014.
In his address to mark the start of the season, Dr. McNeill highlighted that Jamaica earnings from stop over arrivals grew between January and October.
He’s anticipating another record performance with over 2-million stop-over visitors this year.
