Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, left the island Monday afternoon to attend the CARICOM Conference of Heads of Government in Grenada.
The meeting will be chaired by Grenadian Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell between July 4 and 6.
It’s expected that the crisis in Venezuela and Brexit will be discussed at the meeting.
In a statement this afternoon, Jamaica House says the conference provides a forum for Heads of Government to engage in discussions on issues of critical importance to the region.
The Prime Minister’s delegation includes Foreign Minister, Senator Kamina Johnson-Smith and Press Secretary, Naomi Francis.
During the Prime Minister’s absence, Dr. Horace Chang, will be in charge of the government.
The Prime Minister is to return to the island on Friday.
