Prime Minister Andrew Holness says he expects the lives of firefighters in Port Maria to significantly improve following the presentation of a new fire station in the parish capital.
The $258 million Port Maria Fire Station was a sub project of the Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project implemented by the Jamaica Social Investment Fund.
While speaking at the official handing over ceremony, Prime Minister Holness listed the features of the new station.
He expressed his expectations for the firefighters and residents of Port Maria following the official opening of the station.
Prime Minister Holness says more investments in St. Mary are coming. These include improvements to Annotto Bay’s coastal protection in June.
