Ahead of local government elections constitutionally due by March next year, Opposition Leader, Andrew Holness, is sounding confident about his party’s chances at the polls.

Mr. Holness – who’s the Leader of the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP – says he’s ‘happy’ the governing PNP, is giving signals it’s ready for elections.

He says his party is also readying itself.

Mr. Holness was speaking last night at a JLP Area Council Meeting at the Stony Hill All Age School in West Rural St. Andrew.

He again criticized the government’s management of the economy, saying the cost of living is rising and people are unable to afford basic food items and amenities.

Mr. Holness is suggesting that Jamaicans are very dissatisfied with the Simpson Miller Administration and will reject her government at the polls.
