Prime Minister Andrew Wednesday afternoon constituted the Constitutional Reform Committee that will guide Jamaica’s transition into a republic.

The Committee will be chaired by Legal Affairs Minister Marlene Malahoo Forte.

The Committee will consider the required constitutional amendments to separate Jamaica from the British Monarchy.

Ambassador Plenipotentiary, Rocky Meade will be its Co-Chair .

Also sitting on the committee is President of the Senate, King’s Counsel Tom Tavares Finson.

Deputy Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate, Donna Scott Motley will sit on the committee alongside West St. Andrew MP, Anthony Hylton.

Gender Advocate, Dr. Nadine Spence is on the panel.

Noted constitutional attorney’s Hugh Small, King’s Counsel and Dr. Lloyd Barnett will also be on the committee.
