Prime Minister Andrew Holness has cautioned his 17-Cabinet Ministers that they cannot afford to fall below the high expectations of Jamaicans.
Mr. Holness gave the charge today during the first meeting of the new Cabinet.
In an unusual move, the press was allowed access to the opening segment of the meeting.
This is Andrew Holness earlier this afternoon, chairing his first Cabinet meeting since returning to Jamaica House as Prime Minister.
Holness told his Ministers that the plight of the poorest Jamaicans must be foremost in their minds.
The Prime Minister told his Ministers that in the interest of the country, they must never by bashful about speaking up during Cabinet meetings.
Mr. Holness’ opening statement to his Cabinet lasted just under four minutes.
