Member of Parliament for East Rural St Andrew, Juliet Holness is urging members of her constituency to stay where they are as sections of the Gordon Town main road have collapsed due to heavy rainfall and landslides over the weekend.
Gordon Town Road is among several roads damaged due to persistent rainfall since last week.

Mrs. Holness says the road damage has marooned several communities including, Flamstead, Content, and Craig Hill.
She says she’s concerned about recent events of earthquakes, more tremors than she says she’s used to and the different rainfall pattern as a result of climate change.

In the meantime, Mr Shaw says several other roads across the island were severely impacted by heavy rainfall and landslides.
He says in St Andrew, the Irish Town road was damaged by landslides, while the Trout Hall, Hanna Town and Mocho to Frankfield roads in Clarendon, were impacted.
He says sections of St Catherine were also affected by flooding.
