Prime Minister, Andrew Holness is welcoming reports that over the past few years there has been a significant drop in violence and crime in schools.
Mr. Holness says the development is largely due to the safety and security initiative which he implemented for schools while he was Education Minister.

The Prime Minister says there’s still much work to be done to address violence in schools. But he says progress is being made.

The safety and security created the posts of Deans of Discipline and other personnel to curb anti-social behavior in schools.
Mr. Holness was speaking yesterday at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in St. Andrew.
