Nationwide News understands that a man who was listed as a person of interest in connection with the brutal killing of a Policewoman on the weekend is in custody.

He’s 53-year-old Barrington White, otherwise called ‘Barry’ or ‘Drop’. He was listed as a person of interest in relation to the murder of woman District Constable, Melissa Edwards-White. Mr. White was Mrs. Edwards White’s husband.

Law enforcement sources say just after 9:00 this morning Mr. White reported to the Old Hope Road Office of Police Commissioner, Major General Antony Anderson. He reported to Commissioner Anderson’s office in the company of Attorney, Peter Champagnie.

Mr. Champagnie spoke this morning with Nationwide News.

Reports are that District Constable Edwards White was chopped and killed during a domestic dispute at her home in Duhaney Park, St Andrew about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29.

The Policewoman was 43-year-old. Her dismembered body was discovered by her brother in a house she shared with Whyte in Duhaney Park, St Andrew.

Police Commissioner Anderson and National Security Minster, Dr. Horace Chang, have condemned the murder.
