Chairman of the Jamaica Police Federation, Detective Sergeant Patrae Rowe is urging members to “take the fight to criminals” as the Federation promises to safeguard their rights.
The call comes in the wake of increased criminality in the festive season.
Sergeant Rowe spoke with our news centre this afternoon.
He says public perception is important to the federation but says members are in the business of satisfying and safeguarding Jamaicans.
Sergeant Rowe says criminals have become more brazen in their attacks against citizens.
He says this is partly because of the perception that the police are punished for the lawful execution of their tasks by different groups in society.
Sergeant Rowe says the members will have the full backing of the federation’s executive in their lawful conduct this Christmas.
