Mining minister Floyd Green says the injunction in favour of residents who brought a constitutional claim challenging the lawfulness of bauxite mining under Special Mining Lease, SML, 173 has been lifted.
The residents had alleged that bauxite mining took place under SML 173 in areas in the Cockpit Country.

While the injunction has been lifted, the matter is still before the courts. The matter is to resume in Court on November 20.
