A policeman is now in hospital nursing gunshot wounds, after he was wounded during an incident in St. Catherine early this morning.

The incident occurred in the Horizon Park community, located off Old Harbour Road in the parish.

Head of the St. Catherine North Police, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth says the policeman, who’s attached to the Mobile Reserve, was working for a private security firm at the time of the incident.

SSP Nesbeth says the policeman was shot by a homeowner, after he responded to an electronic alarm at a house.
