A Jamaican woman hailing from Ballard’s Valley in St. Elizabeth was found dead in her apartment in Georgia, after she failed to show up for work.

The incident occurred on Father’s Day.

Reports are, concerns were raised by co-workers when 42-year-old Dr. Samantha Banton Woolery did not arrive for her scheduled shift.

Their worry prompted them to notify the authorities, who then checked on her welfare.

Upon arriving at Woolery’s apartment in Marietta, a city northwest of Atlanta, police discovered her unresponsive body, with visible bruises.

Meanwhile, her 49-year-old Mickey Anthony Woolery ex-husband has been arrested and charged with her death.

He was was arrested in Carmel, Indiana, more than 500 miles from where he’s accused of killing his wife.

According to reports by the Miami Herald, investigators believe Mr. Woolery fled Georgia soon afterward and returned to Indiana, where he lives.

He has been charged with charged with felony murder, felony aggravated assault, felony aggravated battery, felony possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and felony malice murder.
