Finance minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke, says Jamaica has closed in and even surpassed pre-Covid numbers in certain areas of the economy.

While speaking at the Invest Jamaica Business Conference on Tuesday, Dr. Clarke said Jamaica is just shy of its pre pandemic levels of economic output.

Dr. Clarke says the country’s unemployment and debt ratio numbers are lower than those recorded before the pandemic.

Dr. Clarke noted that Jamaica is modernising its customs laws.

He announced a deal that’s been signed with The International Finance Corporation to construct a highway between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios worth US $800 million.

Meanwhile, Senator Aubyn Hill, also encouraged stakeholders to invest in Jamaica’s health sector, specifically in the training of its workers.
