The Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions is to start wage and benefits negotiation with the Finance Ministry for the 2017-2019 contract period in another two weeks.

President of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU) Helene Davis-Whyte says there’s no delay in the negotiations.

Unions representing public school teachers and rank and file members of the JCF have rejected the initial wage offer from the government.

The Jamaica Teacher’s Association has bemoaned the wait to get a second offer from the government.
