We will win!
That’s the word from the Opposition, Jamaica Labour Party, now that the governing PNP has signaled that it’s planning to call local government elections before the end of June.
Deputy General Secretary of the JLP, Audley Gordon, says the party stands ready to contest any election called, be it local or general.
Last week, PNP General Secretary Paul Burke, made it clear that Prime Minister and party President, Portia Simpson Miller, is ready to call local government elections.
Mr. Gordon says the JLP is ready and will win whatever election that’s called.
Mr. Gordon says the JLP has been working hard on the ground to ensure the views of those at the parish council level are represented.
He says most of its candidates have already been canvassed for the local government polls.
