JN Money Services has partnered with African-based fintech company, WapiPay, to expand money transfers and trade-linked payments between the Caribbean and key international markets, including Africa and Asia.
The companies are set to make a formal announcement later on this Thursday.
A joint press event is scheduled for 1:30 pm at the JN Group’s corporate office in New Kingston.
The partnership follows WapiPay’s receipt of regulatory approval from the Bank of Jamaica to operate in Jamaica.
The approval means an expansion of remittance payment options for Jamaicans.
The parties say it positions Jamaica as WapiPay’s gateway to one of the world’s largest remittance markets.
WapiPay was founded n 2019 with a focus on simplifying payments between Africa and Asia.
It has since expanded its network across multiple international markets.
JN Money, meanwhile, is the Caribbean’s largest indigenous money transfer company.
Its global footprint spans the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the Philippines, Nepal, Ghana and several Caribbean countries.
