Customers of the Jamaica Public Service, JPS will see a 7-percent reduction in their electricity bill this month.
In a statement today, the JPS says the reduction is due to savings from lower oil prices on the world market.
It says the cost per kilowatt hour of electricity has fallen to USD$0.24, down from USD$0.27.
The JPS says the Fuel-and-IPP charge on bills for August will be JMD$14.47 per kilowatt hour,
compared to the $16.76 applied to July bills.
The Director of Corporate Communications at the JPS is Winsome Callum.
