In light of the issue that forced the adjournment of the murder trial of Everton ‘Beachy Stout’ McDonald, Justice Minister Delroy Chuck says he’s preparing a Cabinet submission for an increase in the stipend paid to jurors.

Jurors currently receive a stipend of $2,000 per day, up from $500 in 2015.

Minister Chuck says while he understands the constraints some jurors may encounter, financial difficulties shouldn’t excuse a juror from their sworn duty.
