The Police have charged five women in connection with the brutal beating of 17-year-old Kaylan Dowdie.

Head of the St Andrew North Police, Superintendent Aaaron, Fletcher says the women have been charged with wounding with intent and unlawful wounding.

Kaylan was attacked and beaten a few days ago at an alleged illegal party in Barbican, St. Andrew.

Kaylan remains in hospital this morning in serious condition.

Her mother, Veniesha Buckley, says reports are her daughter was set upon and beaten by a group of women at a party.

The women allegedly objected to a frown on Kaylan’s face when she looked in their direction.

The violent incident has triggered national outrage.

The teenager is on a life support machine.
