Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Kevin Harvey, is seeking an extended leave of absence to pursue regional work in fighting HIV\AIDS.

Dr. Harvey made the disclosure to Nationwide News today.

Dr. Harvey is on leave from the Ministry. He’s awaiting approval from the Office of the Services Commission, OSC.

Dr. Harvey is being tapped to fill the post of Caribbean Regional Manager at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

The Los Angeles-based foundation is a global non-profit provider of HIV prevention services, testing, and healthcare for HIV patients.

It currently provides medical care and services to more than six-hundred thousand individuals in 15 U.S. states and 36 countries worldwide. Dr. Harvey says the OSC seem receptive to his new direction.

Permanent Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister, Elaine Foster-Allen, will be reassigned to act at the Ministry of Health.
