The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has arranged an emergency conciliation meeting with the Ministry of Education and the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, JTA.

The meeting is set for Friday morning at the Labour Ministry’s office on North Street in Kingston.

This meeting is in response to the Industrial Action taken by teachers across the island’s public schools.

The Labour Ministry says it will attempt to end the impasse between the parties in the shortest possible time.
