Former Edwin Allen High School star Bryan Levell has admitted that the transition from the junior level to the professional ranks has been an eye-opener for him.

The 20-year-old Levell says it’s so far been a challenge for him in various aspects of the step up from his days running at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships to now having to condition his body for the next level.

Levell, who is taking instructions from Shanike Osbourne at Optimum Track Club, ran a personal 6.59 seconds for second place at the Queens Grace Jackson Meet at the National Stadium this past weekend.

After the race, he gave Nationwide Sports an insight into the early stages of his life as a senior.

Levell was running only the second 60m at the senior level but will soon return to his comfort zone of the 100 and 200m sprints, where he has lifetime bests of 10.21 and 20.34 seconds, respectively.

The sixth-place finisher in the 200-metres final at last year’s World Under-20 Championships in Colombia says he’s prepared to be patient in these crucial stages of the transition.
