Minister of Local Government, Desmond McKenzie has strongly denounced the shooting of two NSWMA employees Wednesday morning, which resulted in the death of one.
The other employee remains hospitalised.
Reports are that at around 8:30am, the sanitation workers were on duty in the vicinity of the Portmore Community College when two men walked up and shot them.
Minister McKenzie says he is heartened by the many messages of support sent by Jamaicans in this time of grief.
He offered his solidarity to the families of the victims and the NSWMA.
The Minister has called on Jamaicans to shun and expose criminality.
