Minister of Local Government, Desmond McKenzie, is to ask Cabinet to revisit the decision to ban funerals and burials.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness on Sunday announced a ban on all funerals and burials until March 22 in an effort to stem rising Covid-19 cases.
There has been public concerns about how the ban could affect capacity at funeral homes.
Minister McKenzie says after meeting with stakeholders in the funeral industry, he will ask Cabinet to review suggestions made by the various interests.
The Minister says while he understands the plight of players in the sector, recent videos of funerals circulating online are sending the wrong signal.
He says the scant disregard for the ban cannot be tolerated.
