The National Environment and Planning Agency, NEPA, says it has concluded its investigation into Dawkins Pond fish kill in St. Catherine which occurred on September 21.

The agency surmised that the die-off of these fish was due to low oxygen levels in the water.

Further, NEPA says the cause of the death of the fish is attributed to eutrophic conditions associated with an algal bloom and oxygen depletion.

It says this follows recent rainfall and the discharge of storm water into a confined area of the Dawkins Pond.
