A magisterial recount for North West Clarendon, is set to get underway tomorrow at the request of the PNP’s defeated candidate, Richard Azan.
That’s according to Director of Elections, Glasspole Brown.
The Jamaica Labour Party’s Phillip Henriques beat Mr. Azan by 83 votes in the final count.
However, the process resulted in more than 11-hundred ballots being rejected.
That’s reportedly the largest number of rejected ballots in a recent general election.
The Director of Elections says the EOJ can’t comment on the rejected ballots at this time due to the recount.
However, he says they intend to do a review of the entire election process at a later date.
