A major operation is now underway in Westmoreland as the Police are pursuing members of the reputed Kings Valley Gang.

The gang has been creating havoc in Westmoreland and other sections of Western Jamaica.

Deputy Police Commissioner in charge of the crime portfolio, Fitz Bailey, confirmed the operation moments ago.

DCP Bailey says the individuals being pursued are suspected of breaching the country’s anti-gang law.

In July last year, six members of the gang were freed of anti-gang related charges in the Supreme Court.

At the time Chief Justice Bryan Sykes ruled that prosecutors didn’t provide enough evidence. The Chief Justice also said the Crown’s main witness had inconsistencies in his statement.

The star witness was allegedly a former member of the gang.
