The Mandeville police in Manchester are probing a suspected murder suicide in the parish about 11:45 last night.
Reports are that 23 year old security guard Terrence Reid, shot his 21 year old girlfriend Shad Smith, in the community of Melrose Mews in the parish.
Its understood that Miss Smith went to visit Reid at his home when a dispute developed.
Residents say they heard explosions and called in the police.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found Miss Smith and Reid, each suffering from a gunshot wound.
They were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
A firearm was taken from the scene.
