The police say efforts are underway to locate gunmen who last night used their high powered weapons to trade bullets in the Farm Effortville community in Clarendon.

Superintendent Vendolyn Cameron Powell is the commanding officer in charge of the parish.

The exchange of gunfire reportedly lasted for over half-an-hour.

No one has been taken into custody.

Superintendent Powell says the hilly terrain is challenging for the police.

She’s urging residents to work with law enforcement to ensure that calm prevails in the area and the gunmen are apprehended.
