Emily Mayne and Mattea Issa are having a good round at the 34th Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship being staged in Puerto Rico.

Mayne leads the under-18 group after posting one under par at the half way mark.

The other Jamaican in the same group – Eryn Blakely currently sits in 7th place on five over par.

Issa also leads the under-15 age group on even par on the front nine.

Samantha Azan who led the group at the end of day one is currently in second place on five over par.

Alessandra Coe is having a rough front nine and is in 8th place on 26 over par in the under-13 category.

Ryan Lue is the best placed male golfer at the moment in 4th place on three over par in the under-15 age group.

The other Jamaicans in the group are Aaron Ghosh in 10th place on 8 over par and Lek Drummond in 16th place on 19 over par.

The under-18 category sees Rocco Lopez tied for 8th place on five over par and Trey Williams in 10th on three over par.

Aman Dhiman is in 12th place on seven over par.

Shasa Redlefsen and Kemari Morris are in 8th and 9th place respectively in the under-13 age group and being six and eight over par respectively.

Coach Jason Lopez was upbeat about the team’s improved scores on the second day of competition.
