Chairman of Professional Football Jamaica Limited Chris Williams says the name of Mount Pleasant Football Academy will not be entered into the draw when the Premier League clubs pick their personal club sponsors in January.
Each club in the Jamaica Premier League will have a corporate entity attached as it’s own personal sponsor for the upcoming season and to facilitate that process the club sponsors’ names will be placed in a container for the draw to be done.
Mount Pleasant Academy will be one of the 12 club sponsors and it raised concerns about the possibility of conflict of interest, however Williams says the St. Ann based club was accepted as a sponsor on condition that they sponsor themselves.
Meanwhile, 90 percent of the games will be televised live either on free to air or cable outlet with double headers every Saturday, Sunday and Monday once the season gets underway.
Sabina Park and the National Stadium will be the two host venues but both will not be used simultaneously, they will be used alternately.
On each match day the feature game will start at 3pm to facilitate free to air TV coverage with the second game to be carried live on the cable outlet starting at 6pm
Meanwhile Williams says as presenting sponsors Digicel will not be given the shirt front but they will be hugely visible.
