Member of Parliament for North East St. Catherine, the JLP’s Kerensia Morrison, says by clinging to his British citizenship, while he aspires to be the head of government in Jamaica, PNP President Mark Golding has displayed grave disloyalty to the country.

She says the British citizenship fiasco that is engulfing the PNP President is not a mere legal matter.

MP Morrison says she was disappointed by media reports, which have not been contested by Mr. Golding, that he only obtained a Jamaican passport in his mid-forties.

That’s four years after he was making laws in the Jamaican Parliament as a senator.

She says Mr. Golding’s handling of the citizenship issue should call time on his tenure as Opposition Leader.

Miss Morrison adds that it’s regrettable that the PNP President’s actions have disturbed the process of Jamaica becoming a republic.
