Reggae star, Jah Cure, is set to spend his birthday this year in jail in the Netherlands after being hit with multiple criminal charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault.
Cure, whose given name is Siccaturie Alcock, has also been charged with attempted aggravated assault and attempted manslaughter.
Dutch Police have confirmed that the 42-year-old entertainer, who was born on October 11, 1978, was brought before the Court in Amsterdam today.
A Judge ordered that the artiste be remanded for 14-days while investigations continue.
Jah Cure is accused of stabbing music promoter, Nicardo Blake, in the stomach on October 1 this year.
Blake, who’s otherwise known as Papa, is the leader of Roots Vibes Promotion group.
The incident resulted in Blake having to undergo emergency surgery.
Amsterdam police arrested Cure in the city centre of Utrecht on October 2.
It’s understood that the stabbing took place following a dispute over money.
Efforts to contact Cure’s management team were not successful.
It’s understood that moves are underway to secure legal representation for the artiste as he faces the latest round of serious charges.
Cure is in the Netherlands as part of a European tour which included stops in Spain and Germany.
Jah Cure is a convicted rapist.
He was released from custody in Jamaica in 2007 after serving eight years of a thirteen year sentence.
He had been convicted of brutally raping a woman at gunpoint.
Cure is known for songs including, ‘Never Find’, ‘Before I Leave’ & ‘True Reflections’.
