Captain of the West Indies women, Hayley Matthews was named player of the tournament after her Mumbai Indians beat the Delhi Capitals by 7-wickets in the final of the inaugural Women’s T20 Premier League, on Sunday.
Batting first, Delhi Capitals made 131 for 9 off their 20 overs.
Captain Meg Lanning made 35 and Shikha Pandey 27 not out.
Matthews finished with figures of 3 for 5 for Mumbai Indians.
In reply, Matthews made 13 and captain Harmanpreet Kaur 37 and Nat Sciver-Brunt 60 not in Mumbai Indians’ 134 for 3.
Matthews ended the season with 271 runs and 16 wickets.
Her run total placed her fifth overall behind Lanning -345, Sciver-Brunt -332, Talia McGrath -302 and Kaur -281, while her 16 wickets were joint-most alongside Sophie Ecclestone.
