Head of the Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies, Professor Simon Mitchell, says Jamaica did not record a 5.2 magnitude earthquake in St. Ann this morning.
His comment follows reports that there was a local earthquake, with its epicentre in St. Ann’s Bay.

The only recorded earthquake of a significant magnitude this morning was in the southern Philippines.
The recorded magnitude was 7.
Initial reports are that one person has been killed and dozens injured.
