No regrets!

That’s the word of Senior Vice President of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union, Wesley Nelson, after the strike action by workers of the National Water Commission disrupted to service of thousands of Jamaicans.

Mr. Nelson was speaking yesterday on Nationwide@5.

He admitted that the workers decided to take industrial action without giving the three days notice required by law.

The employees are protesting what they say are outstanding reclassification monies owed to them.

The strike left many households, businesses, as well as schools, without the precious commodity to carry on their daily activities

The BTIU VP, says he hopes Jamaicans understand the necessity of their actions.

However, he says this kind of disruption seems to be the only way for the NWC workers to have their concerns resolved.
