Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA, Audley Gordon, says the entity will double its enforcement activities come next year.

He says too many people are hell-bent on ‘duttying’ up Jamaica. It’s why he’s calling for a culture shift in how people manage solid waste.

Mr Gordon pointed to the recently constructed road to bypass Three Miles, in St Andrew. He notes that there is already mounting garbage along the thoroughfare.

Mr Gordon says the NSWMA is moving to address the issue. He also says the authority has completed its annual town centre cleaning drive in preparation for the busy Christmas season.

But the NSWMA boss is urging members of the public to desist from littering during the season.
