President of the National Water Commission, NWC, Mark Barnett, says he expects the country’s water supply service to be restored sometime today.
The nation’s water supply system suffered disruptions in several sections of the island, as hundreds of National Water Commission, NWC, employees walked off the job yesterday.
The employees are protesting for what they say are outstanding reclassification monies owed to them.
The NWC President is apologizing to customers.
Mr Barnett says more than 95-percent of the company’s customer base was affected yesterday.
He’s describing yesterday’s strike as a high level secretive action, involving locking the company’s valves.
