The government is to digitally map all National Water Commission, NWC, connections across the island.

Minister with responsibility for Water, Dr Horace Chang, says the aim of the programme is to map all water connections into a digital database.

It forms part of the government’s move to cut down on water wasted due to leaks and theft.

Dr. Chang says over 50-percent of potable water produced by the NWC is lost.

Dr. Horace Chang was addressing a community meeting at the Glendevon Skills Training Centre in St James last Thursday. He says more information will be given on the programme during his upcoming sectoral debate presentation in parliament.
