The country’s Chief Medical Officer is expressing fears that there’ll be a significant increase in Covid-19 infections following several events held over the Independence weekend across the island.
Dr. Jacqueline Bisasor McKenzie gave the dim forecast while speaking on Nationwide This Morning with Abka Fitz-Henley and Danielle Archer.
Dr. Bisasor McKenzie says it’s important for Jamaicans to treat the third wave of the pandemic very seriously.
She noted that Jamaica’s positivity rate has jumped to nearly 40 per cent in far fewer weeks when compared to the second wave.
The Chief Medical Officer is urging citizens to remain at home.
