The Opposition People’s National Party, PNP, is calling for an oversight mechanism to be put in place where people can register issues they might have during the State of Emergency declared in St. James.

Yesterday, the PNP gave qualified support for the government’s actions to declare the state of emergency.

Speaking on Nationwide’s This Morning, PNP President and Opposition leader, Dr. Peter Phillips, says he’s reserving full support until the government puts an oversight mechanism in place.

Dr. Phillips adds that the Opposition is waiting on the Andrew Holness-led administration to place the full regulations of the State of Public Emergency before the House of Representatives as required by law.
