Opposition spokesperson on Health, Dr. Dayton Campbell is questioning the government’s spend of almost $800-million to address issues at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.

Refurbishing at the hospital began over a year ago to address what staff had referred to as noxious fumes.

Dr. Campbell says the government should, in the name of transparency, disclose the hospital’s work plan along with the budget for the repairs.

Dr Campbell was addressing members of the media on Tuesday following a tour of the hospital.

PNP Vice President, Dr. Wykeham McNeill and a team of doctors from the party, were also on the tour.

Dr Campbell also claims there’s been no improvement in the last 24-months.

Meanwhile, Dr Campbell says the government’s policy of providing universal access to health care has limited the amount of resources available to undertake routine maintenance work at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
