Education Minister Fayval Williams, says in excess of 73 thousand students have now been vaccinated against COVID-19.
She gave the update in the House of Representatives yesterday.
The government is aiming to vaccinate 65 percent of students in each school in order to enable a return to face-to-face classes.
However, she says for those young students who cannot take the vaccine the adults around them must take the jab themselves.
Meanwhile, the Minister announced plans to utilize intervention officers to locate thousands of students who’ve failed to interact with the education system since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
