Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced an allocation of $16 million to each Member of Parliament for mitigation and clean up for the Christmas period.

Four million of the sum is allocated to de-bushing. But it can be reallocated to others.
However, the prime minister says none of the remaining funds can be reallocated to this activity.
Drain cleaning has been allocated $2 million of which $1 million can be reallocated to garbage collection if the MP so desires.
Three million dollars is to be used for waste collection with no possibility for the sum to be otherwise used.
Mr. Holness says this money must be spent by no later than the end of January.
Meanwhile the prime minister reminded MP’s that those selected to carry out the work on their behalf must ensure it is done.
