Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says the Government stands ready to assist Dominica amidst the devastation from Tropical Storm Erika.

More than 12 people have died and several others are still missing after the island was ravaged last week by heavy flooding associated with Erika.

Prime Minister Simpson Miller says she shares the sense of grief arising from the loss of lives and anxiety for those that are still missing in the CARICOM state.

She expressed her sympathy to the country’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerritt during a phone call on the weekend.

She says the impact from the storm demonstrates the vulnerability and serious impact of climate change in the Caribbean.
