As the country continues to mourn the loss of pioneering businessman and outstanding philanthropist R Danny Williams, Prime Minister Andrew Holness has joined those who have paid tribute to the founder of Life Of Jamaica, now Sagicor Jamaica.

The Prime Minister said the death of the former Government Minister who has made remarkable contributions across several fields has deeply saddened the nation.

In sending condolences to Mr Williams’ family, loved ones, friends and colleagues Mr Holness said may his life and legacy continue to inspire us as we recall with gratitude his service to public life and the private sector which had positively impacted the Jamaican landscape.

Meanwhile, in its tribute, the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) described Mr Williams as a philanthropist and dedicated public servant.

The revered founding member of the PSOJ was further hailed as an exceptional Jamaican businessman who was a beacon of Jamaica that gave selfless service to nation building and thereby made significant contributions to both the private and public sectors.

Mr Williams, who had been ailing for some time, passed away on Saturday morning. He was 89-years-old.
