Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the Sugar Company of Jamaica, SCJ, will be moving to assist residents of Clifton in St. Catherine displaced by last year’s demolition.
The demolition was ordered by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, last October.
At that time, the Prime Minister stated the structures were built on land designated for farming as part of the Greater Bernard Lodge Development.
It was revealed that the land was sold illegally to unwitting residents by criminals.
However, Mr. Holness says one young lady, Shaniel Francis will be the first allotted an alternative plot of land.
The Prime Minister says he’ll be personally helping her through the process of legally building her house.
